Dhaka 25K - 4th Edition: Road to Glory

Dhaka 25K returns for its 4th Edition with a bigger, more competitive and more inclusive race experience.
For the first time, the 25K Open Championship welcomes Professional, National-level, Elite, Amateur and Non-professional runners to compete together for the Overall Podium.
Alongside the Open Championship, the 4th Edition will feature dedicated opportunities for amateur age-group runners, community runners, kids, friends, families and wheelchair athletes.

The rules for the 3rd Edition

01. RACE DAY SCHEDULE

All race start times are currently planned as follows:

All categories will start from the designated start area in front of Mohanagar Project Gate and finish at Hatirjheel Amphitheatre.

Important Schedule Note:

**The race schedule has been planned around the permitted road-closure window.
**According to the current traffic-management plan, the road is expected to reopen to regular traffic after 8:00 AM.
**All race start times, prize-giving times and operational schedules are approximate and subject to change based on traffic, safety, weather and race-day requirements. The Race Director and Organizer reserve the right to adjust the schedule whenever necessary for the safe and smooth delivery of the event.

02. RACE CATEGORIES

25K OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP:

Minimum Age: 18 Years & Above

  • The premier competitive category of Dhaka 25K.
  • The 25K Open Championship is open to everyone.
  • Professional, National-level, Elite, Amateur and Non-professional runners are all eligible to participate and compete for the same Overall Podium.
  • There is no upper age limit and no restriction based on professional or non-professional status.
  • If you are aged 18 or above and want to compete for the Overall Podium and Prize Money, this is your category.

Awards:

  • Male: Champion | 1st Runner-up | 2nd Runner-up
  • Female: Champion | 1st Runner-up | 2nd Runner-up
  • Male & Female Top 3 — Prize Money + Crest

OPEN MEANS OPEN

Professional or amateur, national-level or recreational — every eligible runner aged 18 or above is welcome to compete for the Overall Podium.

25K AMATEUR AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIP:

Minimum Age: 18 Years & Above

This category is designed for amateur and non-professional runners who want to compete against runners within their own age division.

No Prize Money

Professional, National-level and Organizer-designated Elite athletes are not eligible for Age Group podium awards.

Important

Every 25K participant must select either 25K Open Championship or 25K Amateur Age Group Championship.

A participant cannot claim podium awards from both categories in the same edition.

10.3K COMMUNITY CHAMPIONSHIP:

Minimum Age: 14 Years & Above

The 10.3K Community Championship is exclusively for community-level, non-professional runners. Professional, National-level and Elite athletes are not eligible for podium positions or prize money. If any ineligible athlete is identified, the Organizer may remove the athlete from the official ranking and reassign the podium to the next eligible finisher.

Awards:

  • Male Top 3 — Prize Money + Crest
  • Female Top 3 — Prize Money + Crest
  • Veteran 50 & Above: Male & Female Top 3 — Crest

The Organizer reserves the right to verify an athlete’s competitive status and previous race records where necessary.
All eligibility decisions made by the Organizer and Race Technical Team will be final under the published race rules.

3K KIDS RUN:

Minimum Age: 8 Years to Under 14 Years

A dedicated running experience for the next generation.
Minimum Age: 8 Years
Maximum Age: Under 14 Years on Race Day

Awards:

  • Boys Top 3 — Crest
  • Girls Top 3 — Crest

No Prize Money for this category.

3K FRIENDS & FAMILY RUN:

Minimum Age: 14 Years & Above

Awards:

  • Boys Top 3 — Crest
  • Girls Top 3 — Crest

The 3K Friends & Family Run is a participation-focused category for friends, family members, colleagues, first-time runners and recreational participants who want to enjoy the Dhaka 25K experience together.

3K WHEELCHAIR:

A dedicated 3K Wheelchair Category will provide an inclusive race opportunity for wheelchair athletes.

04. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR REGISTRATION?

ChronoTrack RFID Timing

Official ChronoTrack RFID timing tag with race bib for accurate race timing and results.

Hydration support will be available along the race course according to the official race plan.

Post-Race Refreshments

Finishers will receive post-race refreshments after completing their race.

Post-Race Physio & Medical Support

Dedicated post-race medical and physiotherapy support will be available at the event venue.

Race Expo Experience

All registered participants are invited to attend the official Dhaka 25K Race Expo.

05. BIB COLLECTION POLICY

There will be no regular BIB distribution at the Race Venue on Race Day.

  • Every participant must collect their Race BIB and timing tag from the official Race Expo.
  • If a participant is unable to attend the Expo personally, an authorized representative may collect the BIB on their behalf, subject to the Organizer’s collection and verification requirements.
  • Participants are strongly advised to complete BIB collection in advance.
  • Arriving at the Race Venue without an officially issued BIB will not guarantee participation.

06. FINISHER MEDAL & E-CERTIFICATE POLICY

A Finisher Medal and Finisher E-Certificate will be awarded only to participants who:

  • Complete their registered race distance;
  • Complete the course within the official cut-off time;
  • Follow the official course;
  • Comply with the published race rules; and
  • Are officially recorded as valid finishers.

Simply registering for or starting the race does not guarantee a Finisher Medal or Finisher Certificate.

15-MINUTE START WINDOW

Start On Time. Protect Your Official Finish.

  • For every race category, participants must cross the Start Line
  • within 15 minutes of the official Gun Time.
  • Once the 15-minute start window has passed: The Start Gate for that race will be closed.

Any participant who starts after the permitted 15-minute window will not be considered an official starter and will therefore not be eligible for:

  • Official Race Result
  • Finisher Medal
  • Finisher E-Certificate

Participants are strongly advised to arrive at the Start Area early and be ready before their official race start time.

Official Start Window

25K — 4:00 AM to 4:15 AM
10.3K — 5:30 AM to 5:45 AM
3K Categories — 6:30 AM to 6:45 AM

No official start will be permitted after the applicable start window has closed.

Official Cut-off Times

25K — 4 Hours
10.3K — 2 Hours
3K — 50 Minutes

Participants finishing outside the official cut-off time will not be recognized as official finishers.

07. BIB / REGISTRATION TRANSFER POLICY

Official registration transfer will be allowed until: 12 December 2026

A participant may transfer the registration to another person through the Organizer’s approved transfer process.

Only the following participant information may be changed during an approved transfer:

  • Participant Name
  • Contact / Communication Information

Any other change will be subject to Organizer approval.

Unauthorized BIB Transfer Is Strictly Prohibited

Running under another participant’s BIB without completing the official transfer procedure may result in Immediate Disqualification (DSQ).

The result may be removed from the official results and the participant may lose eligibility for all race awards and finisher recognition.

EARLY-MORNING RACE NOTE

  • The 25K and 10.3K races will start before sunrise.
  • Sunrise is expected at approximately 6:40 AM, subject to the final race date and conditions.
  • For participant safety and better visibility, runners are strongly recommended to bring and use a headlamp or suitable personal running light, particularly for the early stages of the 25K and 10.3K races.
  • Participants should also wear appropriate reflective or visible running clothing where possible.

PARTICIPANT CONDUCT

  • Dhaka 25K is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful and professional race environment.
  • Participants must treat volunteers, Race Officials, Medical Teams, Traffic Personnel, fellow participants and Event Staff with respect at all times.

Misconduct

If abusive, threatening, aggressive or seriously disrespectful behaviour toward volunteers or Race Officials is reported and proven, the Organizer may impose penalties including:

  • Time Penalty
  • Disqualification
  • Removal from Official Results
  • Loss of Podium or Award Eligibility
  • Suspension or ban from Run Bangladesh events for up to 2 years

The severity of the penalty will depend on the nature of the violation.

RACE RULES

  • The detailed Dhaka 25K 2027 Race Rules & Regulations are planned to be published approximately one month before Race Day.
  • Every registered participant is responsible for reading, understanding and complying with the official race rules.
  • By participating in Dhaka 25K 2027, participants agree to follow all instructions issued by the Race Director, Race Officials and Organizer.

ORGANIZER'S AUTHORITY

  • Participant safety, fair competition and successful race operations will remain the Organizer’s highest priorities.
  • The Race Director and Race Organizer reserve the right to make, amend or update operational decisions, schedules, rules, race procedures, course-management requirements and competition decisions whenever reasonably necessary for safety, fairness, traffic management, regulatory requirements or event operations.
  • Any major changes affecting participants will be communicated through the official event communication channels whenever reasonably possible.
  • Final decisions relating to race operations and competition matters will be made according to the published race rules and event regulations.

FIND YOUR RACE PHOTOS FASTER

Smart Race Photo Search Returns for 2027

  • Finding your race photos should be quick and easy.
  • Following the service we have provided over the last three editions, Dhaka 25K will again offer a smart photo-finding service using your BIB number and facial recognition, helping you locate your race photos without spending hours searching through thousands of images.
  • The service will be available as an optional paid service, with pricing starting from approximately BDT 200 and/or on a per-photo basis, depending on the final package.
  • Full pricing, access instructions and service details will be announced later.

Prefer not to use the paid service?

No problem. Race photos will also be published gradually through our official social media channels. Please allow approximately two weeks after Race Day for the regular photo uploads to begin/complete, after which participants can manually search for their photos.

08. ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION

  • Participant age will be calculated based on the participant’s age on Race Day.
  • The 25K Open Championship is open to all eligible participants aged 18 or above.
  • For the 25K Amateur Age Group Championship and 10.3K Community Championship, the Organizer may verify participant status and previous competition records when necessary.
  • Providing false information, concealing professional or competitive status, participating under an unauthorized BIB, or entering an ineligible category may result in removal from podium eligibility or disqualification.
